Rackspace Technology is advocating for a fundamental shift in security operations center (SOC) strategies, urging teams to move beyond traditional, alert-driven responses.
According to the company, relying solely on alert-triggered action allows attackers to set the timeline, increasing organizational risk. Instead, Rackspace Technology recommends that SOCs prioritize proactive threat hunting, detailed historical telemetry analysis, and risk-based prioritization over severity labels. This approach aims to manage true business risks, not just respond to incoming alerts or manage queues.
Rackspace Technology has previously argued that organizations maintaining a focused approach have outperformed competitors during periods of AI adoption fatigue. The company has also reported a 34% cut in response times and a halving of technical debt following the adoption of its SDDC Business platform for AngelTrack. These moves align with Rackspace Technology’s continued emphasis on operational improvements across its portfolio.
