SATMEX 6 celebrates 20 years

Intuitive Machines, Inc. is recognizing 20 years since the launch of SATMEX 6, a communications satellite designed to serve the Americas.

Operating from a geostationary orbit at 113 degrees West, SATMEX 6 has provided C-band and Ku-band capacity across a large footprint, consistently maintaining coverage over the same region. Built on the IM 1300 platform, the satellite demonstrated enduring operational performance for two decades, supporting a range of connectivity and broadcasting services throughout the hemisphere.

Intuitive Machines has recently expanded its business scope with the acquisition of LanterisSpace, marking a shift toward recurring space infrastructure development. The company has also launched initial Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) orders through partnerships with Lunar Outpost and Astrolab. These initiatives build on its long-running track record in satellite operations.
