Parent donations surge for classroom wish lists, Nextdoor survey shows
Parents boost school supply donations

More than half of parents are preparing to buy additional classroom supplies as the back-to-school season begins, according to new research from Nextdoor's insights team.

The study shows that 51 percent of parents intend to purchase extra supplies for their child's teacher, 49 percent will contribute to a classroom wish list, and 40 percent are planning to donate used items. The findings highlight a broader trend of community support, with parents increasingly investing to bridge classroom needs amid shifting educational budgets.

Nextdoor recently expanded its business offerings with an agency partner program that includes Wpromote, PMG, Tinuiti, and Booyah Advertising. The company has also supported research on neighborhood trends, backing a Freshpaint survey that found marketers face challenges linking local data to patient demand. These initiatives reflect Nextdoor’s continued focus on local engagement.
