Santa Monica opens major electric bus charging depot with ChargePoint Holdings, Inc. partnership — ChargePoint builds SoCal charging hub

ChargePoint Holdings, Inc. is accelerating the shift to electric fleets in Southern California with the launch of a new 7 plus megawatt charging depot in Santa Monica.

Developed in collaboration with Eaton, this facility is designed to meet the needs of large-scale transit operations as municipalities look to advance electrification of buses and other public vehicles. The new charging hub will enable transit agencies to deploy cleaner, electric transportation at scale with greater confidence and reliability. Large depots such as this are seen as critical infrastructure for supporting widespread adoption of zero emission fleet vehicles across the region.

ChargePoint has previously encouraged businesses to use branded EV charging stations to enhance visibility and customer engagement.
