Rocket Lab stock opened with a gap up from $80.25 to $81.23, capturing immediate attention on the daily chart. The price is currently situated below the MA-50 but above both the MA-20 and MA-200, creating a split daily structure that reflects ongoing market debate. With Stoch RSI sitting in overbought territory, the scope for additional upside is limited for now. The next area to watch is resistance at the weekly high of $84.21, which could test the sustainability of this surge.
Traders should watch for a close above $84.21 to confirm buyers are committed to extending the move. The session began with a sharp gap higher from $80.25 to $81.23, highlighting strong early demand. Over the past week, the move has been sharp, but without a sustained trend; even so, for the coming trading week, the probability of further upside is 56% compared to 44% downside, with an expected trading range between $78.31 and $86.14. A drop below $78.39 would indicate this recent strength is being rejected, while a close above resistance would increase conviction in a bullish continuation. On the weekly chart, the longer-term picture remains constructive.
Previously it was reported that Rocket Lab's successful satellite deployments and contract wins positioned the stock for potential medium- to long-term bullish momentum, despite some near-term technical resistance. The latest selection by Viasat for the PTS-G program adds a significant new contract to Rocket Lab’s portfolio, and with price volatility elevated around a split moving average structure, traders should monitor the $84.21 resistance level for a decisive directional move.
