Virgin Galactic tests Spaceship vibrations

Virgin Galactic has conducted ground vibration testing on its Spaceship, employing an innovative setup that included suspending the vehicle on soft bungees to simulate flight conditions. The engineering team used electrodynamic shakers and monitored structural responses through more than 150 sensors.

The update, shared by Aeroelasticity Engineer II Ana Predescu, underscores the company's ongoing efforts to validate the spacecraft's performance and safety through rigorous pre-flight assessments.

Virgin Galactic recently completed the Unity 35 glide flight at Spaceport America to advance pilot training for upcoming commercial missions. The company also brought two vehicles together for the first time at its Mesa facility, marking a milestone in its engineering process. These developments form part of ongoing preparations for future spaceflight operations.
