Virgin Galactic completes Unity 35 flight

Virgin Galactic conducted a successful Unity 35 glide flight as part of its ongoing pilot training program. The VMS Eve aircraft carried VSS Unity to altitude, after which Unity performed a glide return to Spaceport America in New Mexico.

Pilots Mike Masucci, Dan Alix, and Tori Crichton flew Eve, while Jameel Janjua and Nicola Pecile piloted Unity. The exercise demonstrates continued training efforts ahead of possible future commercial spaceflight missions.

Virgin Galactic previously aligned two vehicles side by side for the first time at its Mesa facility, marking a step in its engineering process, according to a recent report. The company has also announced that limited bookings are open for upcoming commercial spaceflights, allowing new customers to reserve their journeys, as detailed in a previous announcement. These developments follow the firm’s broader efforts to ready its fleet and customer base for potential missions.
