Vice President J.D. Vance to speak at Bitcoin 2025, marking a U.S. political first

For the first time in U.S. history, a sitting vice president will speak at a Bitcoin conference.

J.D. Vance will deliver a keynote at Bitcoin 2025 on May 28 during the “Code + Country” session, affirming his support for financial innovation and decentralized money, reports Cryptopolitan.

His appearance, streamed globally, comes amid his criticism of government overreach and endorsement of Bitcoin as a tool for sovereignty. Organizers say Vance’s presence highlights the mainstreaming of Bitcoin at the highest levels of American politics.

Massive Lineup and Record Attendance Expected

Hosted at the Venetian Conference Center in Las Vegas from May 27, Bitcoin 2025 will draw over 30,000 attendees, 400 speakers, and more than 5,000 companies. Speakers include Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ross Ulbricht, Michael Saylor, Senator Cynthia Lummis, and Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.

The event will be sponsored by crypto powerhouses including Nakamoto, Robinhood Crypto, and Mara. British political figure Nigel Farage will also appear for a fireside chat, underscoring the conference’s global relevance.

Real-World Bitcoin Payments and Cultural Showcase

Organizers will use the event to demonstrate Bitcoin’s real-world payment capabilities. CFO Didier Lewis revealed plans to distribute 4,000 limited-edition Bolt Cards, allowing contactless Bitcoin transactions throughout the venue. Attendees will receive discounts at the Official Bitcoin Magazine Store for Lightning Network purchases. CEO David Bailey emphasized the event’s role in pushing Bitcoin beyond hype, calling it “the world’s most exciting financial innovation” now entering the national spotlight.
