Bitcoin ETF inflows top $3 billion in August
Bitcoin ETFs are attracting strong capital inflows

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $314.37 million on Tuesday, extending their streak of net inflows to seven consecutive trading days. Since the beginning of August, the funds have received $3.03 billion.

According to SoSoValue, the August total is now about $390 million short of the October 2025 result, with four trading sessions left before the end of the month.

If the current trend continues, August will become the strongest month for Bitcoin ETFs since last October. At the same time, cumulative net outflows since the start of 2026 have fallen by more than half to $2.26 billion.

Total assets held by U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $99.05 billion, while cumulative net inflows since the funds launched rose to $54.36 billion.

BTC price and market trend

Bitcoin was trading at around $78,880 at the time of publication, down about 2% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. On Tuesday, the price briefly moved above $80,000.

Market sentiment weakened slightly. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index fell from 74 to 65, but remained in the “Greed” zone.

Inflows also continued into spot Ethereum ETFs. They attracted another $179.8 million on Tuesday, bringing total inflows over the past seven trading days to around $1 billion, according to SoSoValue.

Large capital is returning

Inflows into Bitcoin ETFs suggest that large investors are increasing their exposure again after a weak start to the year. This means demand through regulated exchange-traded products remains strong even with Bitcoin trading well below its record high.

The format of these purchases also matters. ETFs allow funds, asset managers and other institutional investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin without holding the cryptocurrency directly. Sustained inflows are therefore often seen as a sign that large capital is returning and can provide support for the market, especially if the buying continues for several weeks.

As a reminder, BlackRock and Bitwise recently lowered barriers for converting Bitcoin into ETF shares.
