HYPE price prediction: Can buyers reclaim $92 after $330M OTC deal?
HYPE tests key support after a record OTC distribution

Hyperliquid is entering a more sensitive phase as a record HYPE distribution coincides with a key technical support zone. The OTC structure limits the immediate impact on the open market, but price still needs to defend critical levels to avoid a deeper correction.

Hyperliquid Labs successfully unstaked 3.75 million HYPE, which has a value of about $330 million, as part of an over-the-counter deal with an institutional investor. This operation started on September 30 and ended on October 7, following the required waiting period of seven days. According to Onchain Lens, this is the biggest HYPE allocation by the team ever.

The first half of the position, which totals 1.875 million HYPE tokens, have already been moved to the wallets of five buyers, with each of them receiving 375,000 HYPE. The entire position amounts to about 1.5% of the circulating HYPE.

The cofounder of Hyperliquid has further verified that the tokens are meant to be used for an already planned over-the-counter transaction rather than a direct trading deal on the open market.

$85–87 support becomes critical for HYPE’s next move

As long as the $85–87 area holds, HYPE retains the potential to stabilize. A decisive break and sustained move below this zone, however, would materially weaken the technical structure and sharply increase the risk of a further decline toward $80.

Additional pressure in such a scenario could come from long liquidations and more aggressive profit-taking following the previous rally. So far, there has been no clear wave of forced liquidations or large-scale selling, which means this remains a potential risk rather than one that has already materialized.

To restore a more convincing bullish structure, HYPE needs to reclaim $92 and establish a sustained hold above it. That would shift attention back toward the all-time high.

If buyers can clear the ATH and maintain momentum, the next psychological target would be $100.

Short-term supply risk contrasts with strong protocol activity

The large token distribution increases HYPE’s near-term sensitivity to profit-taking, but Hyperliquid’s broader fundamental picture remains stronger than the supply story alone would suggest.

As noted earlier, Hyperliquid generated roughly $72 million in fee revenue over the past 30 days, ranking third among protocols by this measure. Project founder Jeff Yan has linked the platform’s growth to expanding global access to on-chain perpetual futures.
