Ethereum price prediction: Can ETH reclaim $2,550 after $542M ETF outflow?
The latest sell-off cleared out a significant amount of overheated positioning, but demand has yet to return in force. Ethereum now faces an important technical hurdle while institutional flows remain firmly negative.
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs ended another difficult week. According to SoSoValue, net outflows reached $542.1 million, the largest weekly withdrawal since January 2026. The funds have now recorded net outflows for two consecutive weeks.
On-chain activity has added another reason for caution. Two wallets linked to an early Ethereum Foundation distribution transferred 4,393 ETH, worth roughly $11.13 million, to Kraken. The move potentially increases the amount of ETH available for sale and could add to near-term price pressure.

Ethereum tests the 50 SMA as $2,550 remains the recovery trigger
Ethereum is now testing the 50-day SMA on the daily chart. As noted in the previous analysis, a more convincing recovery requires ETH to move back above $2,550 and establish a sustained hold there.
That confirmation has not arrived yet. For now, the advance looks more like a relief bounce after a sharp sell-off than the beginning of a firmly established new uptrend.
Another bout of weakness therefore remains possible over the next several sessions. ETH could slip back below the immediate technical area and retest psychological support at $2,500.
The market is no longer as overheated as it was before the latest correction, however. The sell-off has reset several momentum indicators, while RSI (14) has returned to neutral territory.
That changes the risk balance. If $2,500 holds and Ethereum stops printing fresh local lows, the market would have more room for another upside attempt, with overbought conditions no longer acting as the same constraint on momentum.
Macro data and earnings could pull traders away from crypto
Over the coming weeks, Ethereum will be competing for capital not only with other digital assets but also with a much busier traditional-market calendar.
Wall Street is moving into the full swing of earnings season, with major U.S. banks reporting this week before the flow of corporate results broadens quickly. At the same time, investors will receive CPI on Wednesday, followed by PPI and retail sales on Thursday. These releases could materially reshape expectations for Federal Reserve policy.
Weeks like this tend to concentrate attention on equities, bonds and the dollar. Some speculative liquidity may therefore shift away from crypto temporarily, particularly if earnings or macro data trigger sharp moves in Treasury yields or major U.S. stock indexes.
