Tokenized stock trading shifts beyond U.S. market hours on Solana, BNB Chain

Tokenized stock trading shifts beyond U.S. market hours on Solana, BNB Chain
24/7 tokenized stock surge

Around-the-clock activity is becoming a defining feature of tokenized equities as trading volumes increasingly build when traditional U.S. stock exchanges are closed. The trend is emerging alongside recent gains in tokenized stock values and a regulatory opening for blockchain-based equity trading in the U.S.

Highlights

  • Over 70% of tokenized stock trading volume on BNB Chain, 63% on Solana, and 60% on Base occur outside U.S. market hours, according to Blockworks data.
  • Jupiter reported a 50% month-over-month surge in tokenized asset trading, while RWA.xyz shows tokenized stock values up 15% in 30 days, reaching nearly $3.3 billion.
  • The SEC's new 'innovation exemption' permits qualified venues to trade tokenized U.S.-listed stocks on public blockchains domestically, subject to strict data and disclosure requirements.

After-hours volumes drive onchain equity activity

As reported by Cointelegraph, citing The Kobeissi Letter and Blockworks data, more than 70% of tokenized stock trading volume on BNB Chain occurs outside the traditional 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern trading session. The comparable figure is 63% on Solana and nearly 60% on Base, indicating that investors are using tokenized stocks primarily when conventional exchanges are unavailable.

Jupiter, a Solana-based trading platform, also reports a 50% month-over-month increase in tokenized asset trading volume. Separately, RWA.xyz data shows tokenized stock values have risen 15% over the past 30 days to nearly $3.3 billion, with much of that value concentrated among issuers including Ondo Global Markets, xStocks and bStocks across multiple blockchains.

SEC changes expand market potential

The growth in after-hours blockchain trading is taking shape as U.S. regulators begin allowing tokenized equities a clearer route into traditional financial markets. Last month, the Securities and Exchange Commission introduced an "innovation exemption" that allows qualifying venues to trade tokenized U.S.-listed stocks on public blockchains.

SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda says participating venues must publish transaction data in U.S. dollars, including prices, trade sizes, timestamps and daily trading volumes, while also disclosing liquidity pool addresses and balances. Unlike current tokenized stock products such as xStocks and Ondo Global Markets, which are generally unavailable to U.S. investors, the exemption allows qualifying venues to offer tokenized U.S. equities domestically if they preserve shareholder rights and meet trading and disclosure rules.

Our earlier report on MIAX Pearl Equities Exchange’s NY4 technology refresh outlined a phased server upgrade aimed at improving performance across the matching engine, FIX gateways, MEO and market data systems. The exchange scheduled multiple connectivity testing windows starting October 17, 2026, while emphasizing that member firms should see no required interface changes and minimal operational disruption.
