Dacity Coin surges 2,900% after GTA VI trailer

Solana-based memecoin Dacity Coin surged 2,900% following the release of a new Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) trailer. The rally was triggered by a brief appearance of the fictional cryptocurrency's name in the Rockstar Games video, sparking a sharp increase in trading activity.

In the trailer released on October 15, the name Dacity Coin can be seen on the side of an aircraft. The footage also shows a man standing on the plane's wing and lighting a pink flare.

Within an hour of the trailer's release, the token's market capitalization jumped from $104,000 to $3.18 million. However, it later fell by approximately 53% to $1.5 million.

Traders make tens of thousands of dollars from token

Dacity Coin was launched on Pump.fun on October 11, five days before the trailer's release. The token was created after alleged leaked GTA VI gameplay footage featuring a reference to the cryptocurrency appeared online.

Following its launch, the token's market capitalization initially reached $1.14 million but dropped to $144,700 the next day. Before the official trailer was released, the asset traded without significant price movements.

According to DEX Screener data, at least 24 traders made profits exceeding $10,000 each. One trader turned an initial investment of $1,912 into $44,000.

The aircraft in the trailer features the inscription "DacityCoin AudaCity." The brand is believed to be associated with a promotional stunt in GTA VI, in which the main character Lucia performs a parachute jump to attract investors.

However, Rockstar Games has not confirmed any connection to the real Dacity Coin token. The developer has also made no official statements endorsing the cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency speculation surrounding video games

The appearance of Dacity Coin marks the first notable confirmation that cryptocurrency-related themes will feature in GTA VI. Previously, unverified rumors had circulated online about the possible inclusion of NFTs, blockchain technology and in-game earning mechanisms.

Similar incidents have occurred with other video games. In 2025, after the fictional cryptocurrency Dill Bits appeared in Fortnite, traders launched a Solana token with the same name. Its market capitalization reached $4.78 million before collapsing by 96%.

Interest in tokens linked to GTA VI leaks had also emerged earlier. In August 2026, an X user known as CyberLeek published alleged gameplay footage while simultaneously promoting a token called CYBERLEEK.

Within an hour of the posts, the token's market capitalization surged nearly 5,800% to $3.46 million. However, neither the authenticity of the footage nor any connection between the token and Rockstar Games was confirmed.

Earlier, we reported that Google and Unity launched an AI-powered video game creation platform. The project reflects the growing use of artificial intelligence tools in the gaming industry.
