Aerodrome and Velodrome launch Aero exchange across seven blockchain networks
Aero spans 7 blockchains

Decentralized exchange operators are consolidating infrastructure as onchain trading expands across multiple blockchain ecosystems. Aerodrome and Velodrome have merged to launch Aero, a spot exchange spanning Ethereum mainnet, Base, Robinhood Chain, Ink, OP Mainnet, Arc and Arbitrum.

Highlights

  • Aero merges Aerodrome and Velodrome operations, launching across seven blockchains with a token migration consolidating AERO and VELO into a new AERO token.
  • Aerodrome accounted for 58% of Base's DEX volume and Velodrome for 60% on OP Mainnet in Q3, securing Aero's leading market presence.
  • Aero introduces Predictive Allocation for targeted liquidity rewards, Metaswaps for cross-network trading, and dynamic fees responding to market conditions.

Merger structure and platform rollout

According to The Block, as stated in a Wednesday statement, Aero is bringing the existing operations of Aerodrome and Velodrome under one platform as it builds on the model that helped both decentralized exchanges grow.

Alex Cutler, founder and CEO of Dromos Labs, which develops Aero, said the exchange is positioning itself for a market in which more financial activity moves onchain. The merger includes a token migration in which existing AERO and VELO tokens move to a new AERO token, while veAERO and veVELO convert to sAERO.

Aero is launching across Ethereum mainnet, Base, Robinhood Chain, Ink, OP Mainnet, Arc and Arbitrum. The company said the unified structure is intended to use existing infrastructure to strengthen the platform's capabilities as competition in decentralized trading evolves.

Liquidity incentives and market impact

Aerodrome accounts for 58% of DEX trading volume on Base in the third quarter, while Velodrome accounts for 60% on OP Mainnet, giving Aero an established position in two key blockchain trading markets.

The new exchange is designed to reward liquidity providers and staked AERO holders through features including Predictive Allocation, which directs liquidity rewards toward markets expected to generate revenue. Aero also plans to introduce Metaswaps to connect trading across networks with its liquidity, alongside dynamic fees that adjust to market conditions.

The rollout reflects rising demand for more efficient cross-network trading tools in the crypto sector, as platforms seek to combine liquidity, incentives and execution across decentralized ecosystems.
