BitMine adds 202 000 ETH, now holds 2.5% of Ethereum
According to a press release dated October 13, during the recent market downturn, BitMine Immersion Technologies added 202,037 ETH to its crypto reserves, bringing its total holdings to over 3.03 million tokens.
This means BitMine now controls an unprecedented 2.5% of all Ethereum in circulation. Such concentration makes the company a structural pillar of the Ethereum network, extending its influence far beyond its balance sheet and marking a major step toward its target of reaching 5% network control.
Company Chairman Thomas “Tom” Lee stated that these strategic acquisitions were a direct response to what he described as a “substantial discount to the future,” enabling the company to reduce market debt and accelerate progress toward its 5% target.
“Volatility reduces debt pressure and can cause assets to trade at a significant discount to fundamentals — what we call a ‘discount to the future,’ creating opportunities for investors over traders,” Lee said.
Halfway to the goal
In addition to ETH, BitMine disclosed holdings of $104 million in cash, 192 BTC, and $135 million in “moon assets” — cryptocurrencies with high growth potential.

BitMine’s stock also shows strong momentum: its shares are now among the most actively traded in the United States. According to recent five-day averages, daily trading volume for BMNR reaches approximately $3.5 billion, ranking the company 22nd among all U.S.-listed firms, according to Fundstrat data.
