Solana Mobile ends Saga support, shifts focus to Seeker
Solana Mobile has officially ended support for its first-generation smartphone, Saga, two years after launch, shifting users’ attention to its next model.
The company announced that Saga software support is discontinued, meaning no further security updates will be provided, compatibility with new software or services is not guaranteed, and customer assistance will be limited to general inquiries.
“We want to express our sincere appreciation to all Saga owners and developers who supported Solana Mobile’s first-generation device. Your feedback and engagement have been invaluable in shaping the next chapter of Solana Mobile,” the company stated.
As noted by Crypto.news, around 20,000 Saga phones were produced, remembered by crypto users as a “golden ticket” for receiving airdropped tokens. However, the device’s short support cycle contrasts sharply with other smartphone manufacturers, which typically provide software updates for five years or more.
This decision leaves Saga owners not only functionally stranded but also more vulnerable to security risks — a serious concern for a product designed to protect digital assets.
Solana fans encouraged to migrate to the Seeker model
Solana Mobile now encourages users to migrate to its new Solana Seeker model, which began shipping in over 50 countries in August.Priced between $450 and $500, more than 150,000 units have been pre-ordered, reserved, or shipped.
The Seeker is expected to generate at least $67.5 million in gross revenue, reflecting stronger market readiness and improvements based on lessons learned from the first Saga phone.
