Highlights

  • EUR/COP trades below key moving averages, confirming sustained bearish pressure across all major timeframes.
  • Technical momentum indicators register oversold signals, with sellers dominating intraday action and downside momentum persisting.
  • Price action targets a range of COL$3,517 to COL$3,611 over the next five sessions, with over 80% probability of further declines.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, identifies persistent bearish momentum in EUR/COP. He notes the pair sits below all key moving averages, with momentum indicators deep in oversold territory. Technical signals remain uniformly negative, offering little near-term hope for recovery. Absence of supportive news leaves sentiment flat and downside risks prominent. "Current technicals give sellers the upper hand, and with no positive catalysts, I see limited upside near-term," he concludes.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, remains confident in opportunities despite prevailing weakness. He emphasizes that volatility and defined support levels may create setups for agile traders. While there is a strong downside bias now, clear risk bands allow for tactical entries if a reversal materializes. Wider macro conditions and absence of negative news suggest the potential for quick bounces if buyers step in. "A break above COL$3,611 can trigger renewed momentum — I remain alert for bullish setups in coming sessions," he states.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, sees EUR/COP trading under steady bearish sentiment. He warns that heavy selling and a lack of supportive news reinforce vulnerability. Macro context does little to offset technical pressure in this environment. "Downside remains exposed, and until new factors emerge, I expect sellers to drive the tone," he says.

Bearish momentum as EUR/COP trades below key averages

EUR/COP is trading below its 20-day (COL$3,694), 50-day (COL$3,652), and 200-day (COL$3,989) moving averages, signaling sustained bearish pressure across short-, medium-, and long-term trends. The Ichimoku Kijun at COL$3,699 stands as resistance, and the immediate technical framework puts near-term support at COL$3,563 and resistance at COL$3,604. Momentum signals from the Relative Strength Index (RSI), MACD, and Average Directional Index (ADX) confirm a bearish environment, with the RSI at 38.45 and ADX at 20.53 both projecting a "Sell" outlook, and the MACD steady in neutral territory. Both the Stochastic RSI and Commodity Channel Index (CCI) are deeply in oversold territory, and Bull/Bear Power (BBP) at -32.89 indicates sellers dominate intraday action with an oversold reading. The Awesome Oscillator (AO) also reinforces the prevailing sell tone. The pair is currently trading at COL$3,564, down COL$19.39 or 0.54% for the session, opening with a downside gap of just under 0.1% and moving near the low end of today's range; intraday volatility stands at 1.32%. Price action is soft, with sellers pressing after the open and confirming the negative momentum signals.

Earlier, analysts noted that Euro vs Colombian Peso continued to exhibit a prevailing bearish trend driven by persistent downside momentum. The current analysis reinforces this view with additional technical weakness, highlighting COL$3,517 as a critical support level to monitor for signs of deeper declines in the sessions ahead.
