Highlights

  • USD/IRR trades strongly above key short-, medium-, and long-term moving averages, indicating persistent bull trend momentum in all timeframes.
  • Technical indicators reveal overbought conditions with persistent buying activity, but intraday signals warn that momentum may be stretched.
  • For the next five sessions, price is expected to range from IRR1,786,375 to IRR1,813,803, with a 71% chance of further upside.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes the persistent bullish momentum in USD/IRR as the price remains well above key moving averages. However, he highlights clear overbought conditions, with RSI at extreme levels and little supportive news to back the rally. Kharitonov flags the lack of fundamental drivers as a concern and warns that stretched momentum could trigger a sudden reversal. He draws attention to the Hull Moving Average's sell signal and sees the risk of volatility spikes. "Market participants should be wary — technical overextension without news support often precedes sharp corrections," Kharitonov concludes.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees the technical strength in USD/IRR as a signal of sustained demand and constructive outlook. He believes that the bullish structure remains intact despite overbought indicators, with momentum suggesting further upside is possible. Karapetjanc points to the established support levels and forecasts a potential breakout above IRR1,801,900. "I see multiple setups for continuation higher — further growth is likely as buyers stay in control," Karapetjanc states.
Jainam Mehta, market strategist, observes a strong upward trend in USD/IRR but notes that overbought technical signals could prompt consolidation. He sees divergence in short-term indicators, which may offer tactical fade opportunities for nimble traders. Mehta suggests watching for a decisive move above resistance or a pullback to support as entry triggers. "There’s potential for either a breakout or mean-reversion setup — I’d stay tactical around these inflection levels," Mehta advises.

Bullish trend intensifies as resistance nears and indicators signal caution

USD/IRR trades well above its short-, medium-, and long-term moving averages, with the current price at IRR1,800,181 exceeding the 20-day (IRR1,592,891), 50-day (IRR1,461,265), and 200-day (IRR1,372,884) levels. This configuration highlights strong bullish momentum across all timeframes, with the near-term ceiling at IRR1,801,900 and the near-term floor at IRR1,787,401 defining immediate resistance and support. Momentum indicators reinforce this bullish backdrop, as MACD and ADX both forecast continued buying activity. The RSI is firmly in overbought territory at 89.70, confirmed by an elevated Stochastic RSI and a bullish CCI signal. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) shows buyers dominate intraday, but its overbought status calls for caution. The pair gapped higher by about IRR3,713 (0.21%) at the open and is trading near session highs, after rising IRR10,867 or 0.61% today. Intraday volatility stands at 0.81%, and the tone remains strong as price action pushes towards the daily top. There is some divergence, as the Hull Moving Average (HMA) signals a potential sell, suggesting momentum may be stretched for now.

Earlier, analysts noted that USD/IRR was consolidating as traders monitored mixed technical signals alongside geopolitical and oil market developments. The current breakout above all major moving averages introduces fresh upside risk, making a close above IRR1,801,900 a key technical level to watch for confirmation of continued bullish momentum.
