Highlights

  • EUR/BRL extends its rally above all major moving averages, confirming sustained bullish momentum across all timeframes.
  • Momentum and trend indicators show a strong, overbought market with firm buyer control, but oscillators warn conditions are stretched.
  • EUR/BRL is projected to trade in a R$5.7357 to R$6.3519 range over the next five sessions with more than 80% probability of an upward move.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees EUR/BRL maintaining technical strength but warns of stretched conditions. He notes the absence of supportive news flow and highlights that several momentum oscillators are in overbought territory. Kharitonov questions the sustainability of this rally, noting the neutral MACD and extreme Stochastic RSI. He points to a significant risk of a technical pullback if R$6.0024 fails to hold. "Despite the constructive tone, I remain cautious — markets often correct aggressively from overbought setups with limited news support."
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, believes the EUR/BRL uptrend remains strong across all timeframes. He points out that bullish indicators and robust demand profile signal continued upside. The current structure offers opportunities for further growth as price stays above key averages and the Ichimoku Kijun. Karapetjanc sees the bullish case prevailing as long as support at R$6.0024 holds. "Given the prevailing signals, I expect the bullish structure to remain intact and the market to present multiple setups for buyers this week."
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, is wary of the recent EUR/BRL surge. He sees the lack of fresh macro or sentiment drivers as a possible concern. Dele questions underlying conviction behind the move, especially as intraday volatility rises and overbought conditions intensify. "Without supportive news or institutional flows, I would not chase this rally at stretched price levels."

Overbought signals intensify as EUR/BRL tests upper resistance boundary

EUR/BRL continues to advance above all key moving averages, with R$6.0438 trading above the 20-, 50-, and 200-day marks (R$5.6864, R$5.8137, and R$5.8836 respectively). This broad-based positioning confirms short-, medium-, and long-term bullish momentum, with additional support from the Ichimoku Kijun at R$5.8473. The near-term ceiling is R$6.1722, while the closest floor sits at R$6.0024. Momentum readings are firm, with the MACD remaining neutral and the ADX indicating a strong trend. The RSI and CCI both signal overbought conditions, joined by the Stochastic RSI near extreme highs. Bull/Bear Power is positive, confirming buyer dominance even as the oscillators warn of stretched levels. The Awesome Oscillator supports the prevailing bullish tone. The pair is up R$0.0763 (1.28%) so far, having opened nearly flat, with the current price near the session’s high and intraday volatility at 1.45%. The tone is clearly constructive, highlighting firm demand into strength.

Earlier, analysts noted that EUR/BRL was exhibiting a constructive technical setup with a bias toward consolidation near elevated levels. The current analysis extends this view, with strengthened bullish momentum and a high probability of continued upside, making a potential breakout above R$6.1722 the key scenario to watch in the coming sessions.
