Highlights

  • EUR/MXN trades above its short-term average but remains below key medium and long-term moving averages, indicating ongoing bearish pressure.
  • Momentum indicators are mixed and suggest oversold conditions, with no clear trend established and intraday selling pressure persisting.
  • Expected five-session range is Mex$19.97 to Mex$20.33, with consolidation likely and downside risk prevailing unless resistance at Mex$20.1921 is cleared.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, identifies persistent technical weakness in EUR/MXN despite today's minor rally. He notes the pair remains capped by both medium- and long-term moving averages, while all key momentum signals are negative. The absence of supportive news means current gains lack conviction. Consolidation above Mex$19.97 is not a reversal signal to him. Kharitonov concludes, "With sellers retaining control and no shift in underlying sentiment, I see limited upside and expect further downward risk in the sessions ahead."

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, views the recent stabilization above the 20-day average as a constructive sign. He believes oversold signals could lead to a technical bounce, with the pair's proximity to dynamic resistance offering a bullish setup if breached. Karapetjanc emphasizes that consolidation inside Mex$19.97 to Mex$20.33 sets the foundation for renewed upward moves once negative momentum fades. "The bullish structure remains intact above near-term support — I expect further growth if resistance gives way this week," he says.

Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, sees EUR/MXN at a tactical inflection point. He points out that oversold oscillators and renewed session highs suggest short-term rebound potential, but stresses that momentum remains tentative. Turakhiya notes the importance of volatility bands for defining both breakout and mean-reversion setups. "I’d watch for reactive moves near Mex$20.19 and Mex$19.97 — this range is primed for fast, sentiment-driven trades," he comments.

Bearish momentum dominates as oversold signals offset session rally

EUR/MXN continues to trade above its 20-day moving average (Mex$20.1418) yet remains below both the 50-day (Mex$20.2667) and 200-day (Mex$20.6563) moving averages, reflecting some near-term stabilization but ongoing medium- and long-term bearish pressure. The closest dynamic resistance is found near the Ichimoku Kijun level at Mex$20.1921, with the 50-day moving average acting as a wider resistance zone.

Momentum signals are mixed. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains firmly negative, and the Average Directional Index (ADX) indicates a lack of clear trend on the daily chart. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Commodity Channel Index (CCI) are both signaling oversold conditions, while Stochastic RSI also shows the pair as oversold at the daily level. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) remains slightly negative (Mex$-0.0167), confirming sellers have the upper hand intraday. The pair gained Mex$0.1145, or 0.57%, today after opening nearly flat. Price sits near the session high and intraday volatility stands at 0.70%. This reflects renewed strength toward session highs, although oscillators warn of oversold conditions and short-term momentum remains tentative.

Earlier, analysts noted that the EUR/MXN remained under sustained bearish pressure, with technical signals favoring continued seller dominance despite intermittent rebounds. The current analysis further reinforces this outlook with oversold momentum readings and negative longer-term signals, highlighting that any upside attempt faces strong resistance, while a confirmed break below the Mex$19.97 level could accelerate downside risks.
