BT Group searches for growth amid fierce competition
BT Group remains under pressure after recently breaking below key support levels. Despite stable financial performance and an attractive dividend yield, investors continue to question the company's ability to accelerate growth amid intense competition and weak momentum across the telecommunications sector.
With a dividend yield of approximately 4.3%, the stock remains one of the more attractive income opportunities in the UK market. BT Group continues to hold strong positions in fixed-line communications, broadband services, and corporate telecommunications.
However, investors are becoming increasingly concerned not about profitability, but about growth. The UK telecommunications sector faces intense competition and limited opportunities for meaningful revenue expansion.
BT Group approaches a critical resistance zone

As mentioned in our previous analysis, the GBX 187.50–190.00 area provided strong support for the stock.
The key resistance level is located at GBX 198, while the 200-day simple moving average (SMA) sits just above GBX 200. This makes the entire range a crucial liquidity zone for determining whether the stock can resume an upward trend.
At the same time, the RSI (14) has formed a short-term bullish divergence. Historically, BT Group shares have responded well to this signal.
However, a sustainable breakout would require a significant increase in trading volume, which has yet to materialize. As a result, a broad trading range between GBX 190 and GBX 200 is expected in the near term.
The next directional move will likely be determined once the stock breaks out of this range.
Investors continue to wait for growth catalysts
BT Group's main challenge remains the lack of clear growth drivers.
The company continues to generate stable cash flow and maintains a strong position in its domestic market. However, investors are looking for signs of accelerating revenue growth, customer expansion, and improved operational efficiency.
While intense competition is generally beneficial for consumers and the market as a whole, it can create significant challenges for individual companies, particularly when growth opportunities are limited.
