Muse launch drives trading surge
As reported by CNBC, trading volume in Meta options is about 4.5 times the 30-day average on Monday, with nearly $3.9 billion in total premium exchanged, based on data from Cboe LiveVol and SpotGamma.More than twice as many calls are likely bought versus puts, while seven of the 10 biggest trades are either bullish or neutral. Options positioning signals bullish bias
The most actively traded contracts on Monday are zero-day-to-expiry calls that are now in the money, including strikes from 720 to 745. Beyond those positions, traders also show heavy interest in 775 and 800 strike calls expiring in mid-October.Meta's Muse AI personal agent has been available for nearly two weeks and is topping app store charts, with about 730,000 downloads over roughly five days after its Sept. 8 launch, according to Sensor Tower. SpotGamma data show more than $1 billion in call premium is likely initiated by call buyers, while more than $850 million is tied to selling, suggesting bullish positioning alongside upside hedging.
The largest dollar-denominated trade of the session appears to be a net short position of roughly $20 million through spread trades. Those transactions center on the sale of a one-by-two 710/765 strike call spread expiring Oct. 16, a structure that profits if Meta falls below $740.
