MEMX Equities sets overnight trading test schedule ahead of December launch
MEMX prepares for overnight trading

MEMX Equities is preparing for overnight trading with a series of industry tests running from mid-October through early December. The exchange says firms can join the new session without upgrading to its latest order entry and market data specifications, while the development environment already supports the 9PM ET to 4AM ET window.

Highlights

  • MEMX Equities will participate in industry overnight trading tests on October 16, October 30, November 6, November 20, and December 4.
  • MEMX Equities schedules the official overnight trading session launch for December 6, 2026, with no production test symbols available before this date.
  • Firms are not required to update MEMO/MEMOIR specifications or submit new clearing letters to join overnight trading, and may opt out of overnight session clearing.

Testing plan and launch timeline

As reported by MEMX, MEMX Equities plans to take part in upcoming industry testing for overnight trading on October 16, October 30, November 6, November 20, and December 4.

In coordination with the Securities Information Processors, weekend production testing is set to begin at 11PM ET on Friday and end at 12PM ET on Saturday. MEMX Equities says it does not plan to make test symbols available in production for the overnight session before the planned go-live date of December 6, 2026.

Operational requirements for firms

MEMX Equities says firms do not need to upgrade to version 2.0 of its MEMO order entry and MEMOIR market data specifications to participate in overnight trading. Current MEMO and MEMOIR versions continue to be supported for the new session.

The exchange also says firms are not required to complete new clearing letters for overnight trading. Firms that do not plan to participate in clearing during the overnight session can submit an opt-out form, while the MEMX Development Environment now includes the overnight trading session from 9PM ET to 4AM ET.
