Institutional OTC crypto volume surges

Institutional activity in over-the-counter (OTC) crypto trading has surged in the first two months of 2026. Richard Teng reported that 25 percent of last year's total OTC volume was already matched during this short period.

Teng highlighted that institutional demand for deep liquidity and trusted execution continues to strengthen, indicating growing confidence and participation from major market players.

Teng has previously pointed to the crypto sector’s efforts to build an inclusive financial system, noting the roles played by builders, traders, educators, and regulators in shaping the ecosystem. At a recent industry event, he also discussed Binance’s plans to broaden its asset offerings and expand into new markets. These initiatives have come amid rising institutional volumes in OTC crypto trading.
