New VC funds launch in 2Q26

OpenVC, industry influencer, shares a list of new venture capital funds that launched in the second quarter of 2026. The funds span multiple regions, including Oncology Ventures in the U.S. with $62 million, Iron Nation Fund in Israel with $60 million, Kurma Partners in France with $252 million, Mighty Capital in the U.S. with $91 million, Homegrown Ventures in the UAE with $22.8 million, and Background Capital in the U.S. with $10.85 million.

The post provides a snapshot of activity and fundraising within the global VC sector as of 2Q26.

Earlier this year, Nicole DeTommaso reported that Inception Capital and 3M Ventures were recruiting for investment roles in major cities. She also noted a case in which a final reference check halted an expected offer for a venture capital candidate. These developments came as VC hiring and fund launches continued across the sector.
