Elimination of dollars and coins may change how people see money, Alex Bosworth notes
Digital-only money may alter perceptions

Alex Bosworth, head of infrastructure at Lightning Labs, raises concerns about how younger generations might internalize the concept of money and commerce when physical cash, such as dollars and coins, is completely phased out and transactions become entirely digital, whether in fiat currencies or BTC.

Bosworth questions whether a lifetime exposure to cashless, digital-only transactions could fundamentally alter perceptions of money.

Bosworth has previously observed that Bitcoin technology is advancing faster than its adoption phase, with infrastructure now capable of supporting large-scale volumes such as billions of transactions. In a separate commentary, he suggested integrating BTC as rewards for user reviews through AI-driven creative tools in recipe development. These earlier remarks reflect his ongoing focus on the intersection of digital money, technology, and user experience.
