Gulf freight costs rise as trucking replaces shipping, Scott Lincicome notes
Scott Lincicome highlights that Gulf freight rates have jumped as shipping companies are turning to trucks to move cargo.
According to Lincicome, this shift has led businesses to face thousands of dollars in additional expenses, since lorries can only carry a fraction of the goods compared to traditional shipping vessels.
Lincicome has previously noted that tariffs remain a leading concern for corporations discussing investment in North Carolina.
