Scaling storage is fundamental for L1 blockchains, Jayendra Jog notes
Storage scalability vital for Layer 1

Jayendra Jog, co-founder and CEO at Sei Labs, addresses the challenges of scaling a Layer 1 blockchain by focusing on consensus, execution, and storage.

Jog points out that the initial phase of Giga's launch centers on improving storage, emphasizing that every transaction needs to be stored efficiently. He adds that if storage cannot keep up with transaction volume, the speed of other components becomes meaningless. Jog notes that Eidos is enhancing SeiNetwork's storage capabilities to address this critical requirement.

Jog previously announced Sei’s v6.6 upgrade, describing it as the most significant update since EVM support in May 2024 and part of the Sei Giga roadmap here. He has also commented on Kalshi’s rebranding as a hedging solution for small businesses, noting possible improvements to its legal outlook here. These statements highlight Jog’s ongoing focus on infrastructure and regulatory developments.
