Jayendra Jog: SeiNetwork records p50 blocktime of 400ms and p99 of 600ms
SeiNetwork hits 400ms median blocktime

Jayendra Jog, co-founder and CEO at Sei Labs, discusses blocktime performance on blockchain networks. Jog points out that while average blocktime (p50) is often cited, the speed of the slowest 1% of blocks (p99) is more important.

As of version 6.6, SeiNetwork has a median (p50) blocktime of around 400 milliseconds and a p99 blocktime of roughly 600 milliseconds, making it notably fast compared to typical networks.

Jog previously announced Sei’s v6.6 upgrade as the network’s most significant since adding EVM support in May 2024, a move detailed in Sei's major upgrade. He has also suggested that the Robinhood chain could drive the next rise in onchain blockchain activity, according to recent comments. These developments have kept Sei Labs in focus within the blockchain ecosystem.
