Tesla gains U.S. EV share in 2025

Gary Black, managing partner and investor at The Future Fund, argues that two main factors contributed to Tesla increasing its electric vehicle market share in the U.S. in 2025.

According to Black, traditional internal combustion engine manufacturers significantly reduced their electric vehicle investments in 2025 to limit losses. Additionally, he highlights the complete redesign of Tesla's Model Y as another major driver in the company's EV growth.

Earlier this year, Black commented that Tesla’s Cybercab launch did not meet expectations following a brief formal event. He also highlighted that Tesla had the highest PEG ratio among the Mag 8 stocks for 2026, making it the most expensive in that group. Black’s ongoing analysis has focused on both product developments and valuation metrics related to Tesla.
