Brian Armstrong: Citi partners with Coinbase to expand stablecoin access for institutions
Citi partners with Coinbase on stablecoins

Brian Armstrong, co-founder, chief executive officer, and chairman of the board at Coinbase, highlights a major shift in the banking sector’s approach to cryptocurrency.

He states that when Coinbase began, partnering with banks was nearly impossible, but now Citi is working with Coinbase to bring stablecoins to institutional clients. Armstrong acknowledges the significant progress since 2012 and thanks Citi for its partnership.

Armstrong previously said Coinbase is helping over 1,000 community banks integrate stablecoin features through a partnership with Moov. In a separate update, he announced that Coinbase app users can access IPOs directly by selecting the IPOs feature in the platform’s main menu here. These developments reflect Coinbase’s efforts to expand access to digital asset tools.
