Banks may block wallet-enabled car charging, Peter Todd writes
LN wallets could enable car electricity payments

Peter Todd argued that it would be straightforward to include Lightning Network (LN) wallets in cars to facilitate granular, fraud-resistant payments for electricity as it is supplied.

Todd suggested, however, that banks are unlikely to permit such charging solutions without AML or KYC controls, likely preventing this development.

Todd has previously critiqued Bitcoin's cryptographic signature handling, stating that Nostr provides clearer recognition of signature failures in a recent analysis. He also reported that Bitcoin donations are funding a private air defense unit in Ukraine, which successfully shot down a Shahed drone, according to his earlier coverage. These reports reflect Todd's continued focus on applied cryptography and real-world use cases for digital assets.
