Significant portion of tech stocks has fallen sharply, Mark Minervini notes
Tech stocks decline despite index strength

A large number of technology stocks are down by 25% or more, with several down as much as 50%, even though aggregate indexes may not reflect these declines. More than one-third of S&P 500 stocks have dropped 20% or more, and only 34% of NASDAQ stocks are trading above their 200-day moving average.

Mark Minervini, independent trader and educator, shared this assessment to highlight gaps between index performance and the underlying condition of many stocks.

Minervini has previously questioned why AI-managed portfolios at major firms are struggling to outperform the S&P 500. He has also emphasized that skill, discipline, and risk management are essential for stock market success. These comments follow ongoing scrutiny of performance gaps across different segments of the market.
