PulteGroup CEO sees weak Texas markets

PulteGroup CEO Ryan Marshall said the Big Four Texas markets—Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio—continue to be weak for the company.

Lance Lambert reported that Marshall described both these four markets and the entire state as having been difficult for some time.

U.S. 30-year fixed mortgage rates have remained above 7.50 percent for 11 consecutive days, reaching 7.60 percent, as reported by Lance Lambert in recent coverage. Earlier, Lambert reported an average 7.56 percent rate and a 10-year Treasury yield of 5.28 percent in a separate update. These elevated borrowing costs have persisted during a challenging period for the Texas housing markets.
