India second in global Web3 developer count

India is home to the second-highest number of Web3 developers worldwide, according to Sumit Gupta, who is co-founder and CEO of CoinDCX. Gupta described the concentration of builders in the country as "unreal" and welcomed Vitalik Buterin and a gathering of the global Web3 community at Devcon in India.

Gupta previously highlighted that India collected ₹1,096 crore in crypto TDS from FY22-23 to FY24-25, with uncollected TDS since July 2022 estimated at ₹19,049 crore, according to recent data. He has also referenced projections that bitcoin could be the best-performing asset of the decade, as noted by JPMorgan in his comments earlier this year. These developments come as digital asset interest and regulatory oversight continue to develop in India.
