BTBT climbs around 4.5% after technical rebound and oversold bounce
Bit Digital rises 4.4% to $1.40 today

Bit Digital Inc (BTBT) advanced 4.4% in a technical rebound as near-term oversold signals prompted short-covering activity. The move looks limited, with BTBT still trading below its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages, confirming a bearish structure.

Highlights

  • Shares of Bit Digital are trading below key moving averages, confirming persistent selling pressure across all time frames.
  • Momentum and oscillators indicate ongoing weakness and oversold conditions, despite a temporary 4.4% intraday gain to $1.4.
  • The five-day expected trading range is $1.24 to $1.56, with a very high probability of a downward move.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees the current 4.4% rebound in Bit Digital Inc as purely technical, driven by oversold conditions rather than renewed demand. He notes that the persistent bearish structure, with the price below all key moving averages and weak momentum indicators, is worrisome. The absence of any supportive news signals a lack of fresh positive sentiment or fundamental catalysts. Kharitonov remains skeptical about the sustainability of the bounce, especially given weak ADX and negative oscillators. "Downside pressure is likely to persist unless we see a meaningful shift in volume or fundamentals," he warns.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, interprets the recent move in Bit Digital as a constructive technical reaction within a broader opportunity-rich crypto sector. He highlights that short-term seller exhaustion and the oversold Stochastic RSI could attract value-seeking participants. Karapetjanc remains confident that wider market setups may soon provide upward momentum if macro conditions stabilize. "Further growth is expected if $1.45 is reclaimed, as the market structure can quickly shift to favor bulls," he assures.
Jainam Mehta, market strategist, believes that range-bound price action will dominate in the near term. He notes clear bearish signals but also spots tactical potential for a contrarian bounce on deeply oversold readings. He suggests watching for a potential breakout if $1.45 is breached. "I would consider tactical longs on a decisive move above resistance, but remain wary of false starts in this weak momentum environment," Mehta says.

Seller momentum confirmed as technical barriers limit rebound

Bit Digital is trading below its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages at $1.47, $1.55, and $1.80 respectively, signifying ongoing pressure from sellers in the short, medium, and long term. The near-term ceiling remains at $1.45 (Ichimoku Kijun) with support at $1.35 (today's high), and the broader MA-50 vs MA-200 alignment confirms a bearish long-term trend. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 41.73 signals a negative bias, the MACD indicates ongoing selling pressure, and the Average Directional Index (ADX) suggests momentum remains weak. The Stochastic RSI sits at 0, highlighting oversold conditions, with the Commodity Channel Index (CCI) at -89.77 and Bull/Bear Power (BBP) at -0.08 both pointing to short-term seller dominance. Today the stock is up at $1.40, rising $0.059 or 4.4%, after opening with a downside gap of approximately -0.01 (-0.75%), holding near its session highs with intraday volatility at 2.27%. The Awesome Oscillator is neutral; most momentum and oscillators confirm ongoing weakness despite the current bounce toward the upper end of the range.

Earlier, analysts noted that Bit Digital was exhibiting a rangebound and cautious bearish outlook driven by prevailing downside risk. The current technical setup reinforces this perspective, with sustained weakness across momentum indicators suggesting traders should closely monitor the potential for a move below the $1.35 support in the coming sessions.
