Banco Sabadell eyes €4 as bond demand strengthens market confidence
Banco Sabadell approaches €3.74 as bond demand supports sentiment.

Banco Sabadell shares remain in a solid medium-term uptrend. Strong investor demand for the bank’s latest debt issuance is supporting sentiment, although rising bond yields remain a risk for the broader European banking sector.

Banco Sabadell completed a €750 million five-year mortgage covered bond issuance with a 3.375% coupon. Final demand exceeded €2.1 billion, nearly three times the amount offered, allowing the bank to price the issue at midswap +22 basis points and without a new-issue premium. Barclays, Nomura, Santander, Société Générale and UniCredit participated in the transaction alongside Sabadell itself.

At the same time, market attention has shifted toward the risks associated with higher yields. Spain’s largest banks collectively hold around €780 billion in bonds, and declining market values are increasing pressure on bank portfolios. Roughly €380 billion of these securities are marked to market and could potentially affect capital and earnings, although higher rates also remain supportive of banks’ net interest margins.

€3.74 becomes the next key target for Banco Sabadell

Banco Sabadell shares remain in a steady medium-term uptrend that has been in place since the beginning of summer 2026. In mid-August, the stock broke out of a year-long consolidation and established itself above €3.50.

The nearest short-term support is at €3.58, while the main resistance remains the local high around €3.74. The probability of another test of this level over the coming days remains high.

A decisive break and sustained move above €3.74 could return the shares to price discovery and open the way toward the psychological €4.00 level, particularly if the breakout is accompanied by stronger trading volume.

The bullish setup would be invalidated by a sustained move below €3.58. Such a signal would indicate weakening momentum and increase the probability of a deeper correction back toward the previous breakout area.

Strong investor demand strengthens Sabadell’s bullish backdrop

The nearly threefold oversubscription of the new bond issue confirms strong investor demand for Banco Sabadell’s debt and helps ease concerns about the bank’s funding costs. This provides a favorable fundamental backdrop as the shares approach an important resistance level.

Rising European bond yields, however, could increase volatility across the banking sector. A break above €3.74 should therefore be confirmed by stronger volume; if that happens, €4 would become the next target.
