Rolls-Royce stock regains strength as buyers reclaim control near 50-day SMA
Rolls-Royce is once again approaching a level that could shape the next few sessions. Buyers still have the upper hand, although a stronger catalyst may be needed to generate the next leg higher.
Rolls-Royce has been selected to lead the ELEVATED project under the EU Clean Aviation programme. The initiative aims to demonstrate a hybrid-electric gas-turbine propulsion system for future short- and medium-haul aircraft. In total, 19 projects under the programme will receive up to €290 million in EU funding, with combined public and private investment reaching €664 million.
The project is tied to the further development of UltraFan 30 technology, with ground testing scheduled for 2028. Rolls-Royce plans to use ELEVATED to validate hybrid-electric architecture, improve efficiency and reduce both fuel consumption and emissions.
The company has also announced a further expansion of its Dahlewitz site near Berlin. Rolls-Royce is investing around €30 million in the German facility as part of a broader £55 million programme to increase assembly, testing and service capacity across the UK and Germany.

GBX 1,450 keeps the bullish setup active
Rolls-Royce shares held the previously highlighted GBX 1,450 support level, keeping the bullish setup intact and leaving the psychological GBX 1,500 resistance level in play.
A close above the 50-day SMA near GBX 1,470 today would provide additional confirmation that buyers are regaining control.
The setup would be invalidated by a break and sustained move below GBX 1,450. In that case, the risk of a decline toward GBX 1,420 would rise noticeably.
Rolls-Royce still needs a stronger catalyst
The latest developments around Clean Aviation and manufacturing expansion add to Rolls-Royce’s longer-term fundamental story, but their immediate impact on earnings is likely to be limited.
That means a decisive move above GBX 1,500 may require something with more near-term financial weight, such as a major order, a guidance change or fresh evidence of accelerating cash flow. Until then, GBX 1,500 remains an important psychological hurdle for the current recovery.
