AI infrastructure expansion as capital flows drive long-term positioning

Alphabet's Google unit is making a significant investment of at least €13 billion (about $15.1 billion) to build AI infrastructure in Finland over the next two years, including the development of three new data centers and a 22-year contract securing up to half of the output from one of Finland’s nuclear plants, as reported by Finance Yahoo. This large-scale capital commitment directly expands Alphabet's computational resources and operational reach in AI, which strengthens the company's ability to launch and scale advanced services. By securing dedicated long-term energy supply and data capabilities, Alphabet positions itself for robust growth in key technology-driven markets.

Mixed momentum as buyers dominate above technical support

GOOGL/USD is trading above the MA-20 and MA-50 on the H1 timeframe and remains well above the MA-200 on the daily chart. Immediate support is found at the Ichimoku Kijun level of $350.04. Momentum indicators present a mixed picture: MACD and ADX reflect ongoing upward momentum, while RSI at 58.6 and CCI confirm sustained buying interest. However, Stochastic RSI is deep in overbought territory, suggesting a potential reversal, and the Awesome Oscillator remains neutral. Bull/Bear Power indicates that buyers are currently dominating intraday flows.

Strong upside bias as range breakout probabilities increase

In the near term, GOOGL/USD is projected to trade within a range of $347.28 to $361.02. The probability of continued upside is very high, with further gains likely if prices establish support above the upper boundary at $361.02. Alternatively, should the price fall below $347.28, a deeper retracement could unfold. Range-bound activity is probable if consolidation persists around current levels.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, believes Alphabet’s recent rally is driven by solid technicals and a high-profile infrastructure investment in Finland. He sees ongoing upward momentum supported by fresh institutional interest and robust buying, but notes the market is stretched on some intraday oscillators. Technical signals remain mixed, and the upper range boundary at $361.02 is critical. "Base case remains range trading, but I only trust further upside if $361.02 is broken and held."

Earlier, analysts noted that U.S. policy is designed to support aggressive expansion in AI infrastructure while minimizing regulatory intervention, particularly amidst growing global competition. Alphabet’s substantial investment in Finnish AI infrastructure and its ongoing leadership in key momentum indicators now place the $347.28 level as the critical threshold to monitor for confirming continued upside in the current trend.
