Overbought signals strengthen as price consolidates near key resistance

The daily chart structure shows the stock holding at immediate support, with heightened volatility at 5.89% and momentum character defined as a contained move within a narrow range. Bull/Bear Power is in the overbought zone at 17.9, while both CCI (159.03) and Stochastic RSI (81.14) are overbought, flagging short-term caution amid current consolidation. Support sits at $342.43, resistance is close at $343.92, and the Ichimoku Kijun at $345.82 acts as an additional resistance level.

Upside bias holds for next week as consolidation persists within tight range

Next week, the expected range is $334.44 to $354.3, with a 65% probability of an increase and 35% chance of a decrease. The base case envisions consolidation between the support at $342.43 and resistance at $343.92. A solid move above $343.92 targets the upper end of the range and challenges $345.82. Conversely, a break below $342.43 would expose the stock to further downside toward $334.44.

Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, sees Alphabet stock holding up near $343.5 this week, despite a 2% pullback and lingering daily chart overbought signals. He notes that strong advertising and cloud results, as well as high-profile product news like the Googlebook Android laptop launch, are helping offset some short-term technical caution. Immediate support stands at $342.43, with resistance tight at $343.92 and volatility elevated at 5.89%. Next week, Turakhiya expects continued consolidation between these levels, but points out a decisive move above $343.92 could spark upside toward $345.82, while a break beneath support may open room toward $334.44. "With sentiment steadied by institutional inflows and new product momentum, I am watching for a breakout from this narrow range — but overbought readings tell me not to chase the move prematurely."

Previously it was reported that SoMa Equity Partners a technology-focused hedge fund with significant holdings in Alphabet, was winding down operations amid ongoing shifts in the sector. In light of recent consolidation, investors should watch for a decisive move outside the $342.43–$343.92 range as a potential trigger for the next directional move in Alphabet shares.
