RTX Corporation delivered the first Pratt & Whitney GTF Advantage engine to United Airlines. The engine was installed on an Airbus A321XLR. Rick Deurloo, president of Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney, said the delivery marks a new chapter in the company's long-standing relationship with United Airlines, according to PR Newswire.

Bearish structure holds as shares remain below all main averages

The session opened with a gap up from the previous close of $190.98 to $191.88. Even with this uptick, shares of RTX remain below the MA-20, MA-50, and MA-200, preserving a bearish daily structure. The nearest resistance is set by the MA-200 at $194.51, and RSI reads 30.9, edging towards oversold conditions that suggest the latest decline is becoming stretched.

Downside odds dominate as traders await a close above resistance

To gauge whether the recent event is being incorporated into the price, traders should watch for a close above $194.51 to see if buyers are willing to follow through. After the gap up from $190.98 to $191.88 at the open, attention now shifts to price confirmation. Over the next five trading days, there is a 23% chance of upside and a 77% probability of downside, with RTX expected to trade between $187.66 and $196.71. Even so, the move lower over the past week has yet to be confirmed. A drop below $187.04 would indicate the move is being faded, while the weekly chart continues to present a constructive long-term outlook.

Earlier, analysts noted that persistent technical selling pressure continued to weigh on RTX, driving the stock lower across multiple timeframes. With the stock still exhibiting a bearish structure despite today's positive headline, traders should focus on whether buyers can reclaim the 200-day moving average to confirm any sustained shift in direction.
