Sustained selling pressure persists despite FDA clearance and portfolio moves

Tempus AI announced that its ECG-MR tool received FDA clearance on September 28, marking its fourth such approval targeting mitral regurgitation. In portfolio activity disclosed using September 29 closing prices, ARK Invest sold 128,292 shares of Tempus AI through its ARKK ETF. The announcement did not specify when clinical adoption for the tool would begin, though price action has remained under broader selling pressure.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, takes a cautious stance on Tempus AI after its recent decline. He notes the stock has dropped 5.2% following a sizable ARK Invest sale and is trading close to session lows amid high intraday volatility. Although bullish momentum persists above key moving averages, the heavy selling and unclear timeline for clinical adoption present risks. Overbought conditions in BBP and a sell signal from HMA add to his skepticism about near-term outlook. "Despite technical strength, I remain wary as institutional selling and lack of adoption clarity could trigger deeper pullbacks," he says.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees significant upside potential for Tempus AI. He points to the company’s fourth FDA-cleared tool as proof of ongoing innovation and market expansion. Karapetjanc emphasizes that the bullish structure remains intact above all key moving averages and strong momentum signals further growth. In his view, short-term volatility and ETF outflows offer entry opportunities for forward-looking investors. "I expect Tempus AI to sustain gains and explore the $82.63 zone, as the market offers multiple bullish setups," he says.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, maintains a defensive outlook in light of recent price action. He highlights persistent selling pressure after the FDA news and concerns about institutional confidence given ARK Invest's reduction. Dele questions whether price can hold above $73.35 if bearish momentum accelerates. "The market's reaction to positive news remains cautious, suggesting downside risks are still at play," he warns.

Bullish structure prevails as technical indicators signal robust momentum

Tempus AI is trading above its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages ($72.10, $61.36, and $56.38 respectively), reinforcing bullish momentum across short-, medium-, and long-term trends. Immediate support sits at $73.53, with the near-term ceiling at $77.96, and the alignment of the MA-50 above the MA-200 further confirms the underlying positive structure. Momentum remains strong, with the MACD and ADX both forecasting a bullish tone. The RSI registers at 66.3 and the CCI at 87.76, each indicating a continued buy signal, while the Stochastic RSI reads 73.54, signaling neutral conditions. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) holds at 8.5, showing buyers dominate intraday action, though BBP is flagged as overbought. The Awesome Oscillator (AO) also supports the uptrend. The stock is currently at $77.64, down $4.26 after opening with an upside gap of $0.14 (0.17%). Price now trades near the session low after relatively high intraday volatility of 6.08%. Intraday action shows pressure after the open, and there is some divergence as HMA produces a sell signal despite overall momentum being positive.

In a recent review, analysts highlighted efforts to streamline the approval and development of complex technology and infrastructure projects. The latest trading dynamics in Tempus AI add a fresh dimension, as the stock now faces a critical juncture near $77.96, with any decisive move above or below this threshold likely to determine the subsequent short-term direction.
