The Financial Times reported that Amazon is considering transferring roughly $8 billion worth of servers powered by Nvidia Grace Blackwell systems to outside investors through a special-purpose vehicle. The chips are already deployed across more than a dozen Amazon data centers in five U.S. states, and the company would lease the equipment back after the transaction.

Nvidia also said that OpenAI’s new GPT-6 Astra Ultrafast model runs on Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and is already available through the OpenAI API, as well as to some users of ChatGPT Work and Codex. For Nvidia, this provides another sign that Blackwell is being used not only for training large models but also for large-scale inference, which is becoming an increasingly important source of computing demand.

Nvidia targets $236.54 after defending key support

The base-case scenario from the previous analysis continues to play out. After testing $228 and successfully holding that level as support, NVDA shares resumed their advance.

For today’s session, the key target is the all-time high near $236.54. This is effectively the last major technical resistance within the current structure, with mostly psychological round-number levels above it.

As long as the price remains above $228, buyers retain the advantage and a retest of the record high remains the base-case scenario.

The setup would be invalidated by a decline and sustained move below $228. In that case, the breakout structure would weaken materially and the risk of a correction toward the next support area near $223.50 would rise significantly.

AI demand stays strong but financing costs remain a risk

Nvidia’s fundamental backdrop remains strong, but the scale of AI investment is also making the sector increasingly sensitive to financing costs. Amazon’s plan to transfer billions of dollars worth of Nvidia-based infrastructure to outside investors highlights just how capital-intensive further AI expansion has become.

As long as demand for computing capacity continues to grow, this dynamic remains supportive for Nvidia. However, elevated bond yields and higher borrowing costs could amplify volatility across the AI sector, especially near record highs, where the market tends to become more sensitive to any signs of slowing capex.
