Long-term revenue upgrades offset by persistent market selling

Marvell Technology recently set new long-term financial targets at its Investor Day, raising its fiscal 2028 revenue outlook to about $20 billion and setting a fiscal 2031 goal between $70 billion and $90 billion, driven by custom AI chip demand and expanded partnerships. The company reported a warrant agreement with Google, tying up to 7% of Marvell shares to revenue milestones based on custom silicon chip purchases. Marvell also reported quarterly results that beat consensus EPS and revenue estimates, with a quarterly dividend of $0.06 per share recorded on October 9th, though price action has remained under broader selling pressure.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees the sharp selloff in Marvell Technology as a warning sign. He notes that the stock remains above key moving averages, but persistent broad market pressure outweighs recent positive news and results. Kharitonov highlights overbought technical indicators and the risk of a reversal if support at $274.19 breaks. He is skeptical about the sustainability of the bullish momentum given early downside gaps and mixed intraday signals. "Despite upbeat corporate guidance, I believe the current overextension and volatility warn of increased downside risk in the short term," he says.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, views Marvell's reset of long-term financial targets and deepening partnership with Google as powerful drivers for future growth. He remains optimistic about the robust demand for custom AI chips and the company's consistent outperformance on earnings. Karapetjanc points to the stock's strong technical structure, with all key averages trending higher and clear upside resistance. He sees recent volatility as healthy consolidation in a strong uptrend. "The bullish structure remains firmly in place and further growth is expected as institutional adoption accelerates," he states.
Jainam Mehta, market strategist, observes Marvell Technology consolidating near session lows despite positive earnings and guidance. He points out that the divergence between overbought technicals and weak price action may hint at a potential contrarian entry for tactical traders. Mehta suggests monitoring the $274.19 support and $283.87 resistance for any breakout or breakdown. "A decisive move outside this range could set the direction for the next tactical trade," he notes.

Intraday volatility is 3.53%, and overbought signals are diverging from weaker price action.

Previously it was reported that Marvell Technology exhibited strong bullish momentum driven by rising AI data center demand and an upgraded long-term revenue outlook. The current article adds that, despite solid fundamentals and ongoing technical strength, near-term volatility has increased and traders should monitor whether $274.19 holds as support for further direction.
