Institutional trims and insider sales amid positive coverage news

Natera announced that its Signatera molecular residual disease test received expanded Medicare coverage for use in hepatocellular carcinoma through the CMS MolDX program. Insider activity was also reported, with CFO Michael Brophy selling 1,906 shares for $811,098.30 on October 30, 2026, and filing to sell an additional 313 shares valued at $129,675.90. Several institutional investors, including Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group Inc., Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd Zurich, and One Way Holdings LLC, reduced their positions in the company during the third quarter of 2026.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees limited upside in Natera despite the Medicare news. He points out that the stock trades below its 20-day moving average, signaling persistent short-term weakness. Insider selling and decreasing institutional positions further dent sentiment. Technical signals are mixed, with MACD bullish but trend and momentum softening. "Caution is warranted — the recent gains may not hold unless buying pressure strengthens above $397.26," he states.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, highlights expanded Medicare coverage as a significant catalyst for Natera. He believes the medium- and long-term moving averages confirm bullish structure remains intact. The regulatory milestone sets up opportunities despite near-term supply from insider sales. Karapetjanc expects further growth if resistance at $397.26 is cleared. "Market momentum is building and I see Natera poised for new highs should buyers maintain control," he says.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, remains skeptical about the sustainability of Natera’s recent advance. He notes insider selling and reduced institutional exposure as negative sentiment indicators. Dele warns the upside is fragile as the stock sits just above key support. "Without strong demand, I expect any momentum to fade and the price could slip back toward $361," he warns.

Mixed momentum as short-term weakness clashes with uptrend support

Natera is currently trading below its 20-day moving average ($403.48), but above both the 50-day ($378.09) and 200-day ($266.86) moving averages. This structure reflects short-term weakness, underpinned by medium- and long-term bullish alignment, as the relationship between the MA-50 and MA-200 supports a continued uptrend. For intraday reference, resistance is at $397.26 and support at $384.79. Momentum signals are mixed: MACD is strongly bullish, while the ADX suggests weakening trend strength. The RSI and CCI are neutral, and the Stochastic RSI signals an oversold zone. Bull/Bear Power indicates buyer strength intraday, with the Awesome Oscillator remaining neutral. Volatility stands at 3.24% with Natera trading mid-range after opening with an upside gap.

Previously it was reported that Natera maintained a broadly bullish technical structure despite interim selling and mixed momentum signals. The current analysis adds that, following the expanded Medicare coverage and recent insider sales, the outlook remains one of near-term consolidation with potential volatility, making a sustained break above $397.26 the key level for a renewed directional move.
