Astera Labs eyes AI rebound

Astera Labs is drawing fresh support as demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure continues to reshape expectations for networking and connectivity suppliers. The new bullish call comes after the stock lost nearly a third of its value in three months, even as analysts point to room for recovery tied to AI and cloud deployments.

BMO sets target amid semiconductor rotation

As reported by CNBC, citing BMO Capital Markets, the bank initiates coverage of Astera Labs with an outperform rating and a $375 price target, implying 68% upside from Wednesday's close.

Analyst Harsh Kumar says Astera is a critical AI networking leader within AI infrastructure, as larger AI clusters and new system architectures create tougher bandwidth, latency and distance requirements. In a note to clients on Wednesday, he says the company's four product lines, Aries, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio, help address growing networking and memory bottlenecks.

Kumar adds that this product portfolio is driving Astera content to more than $1,000 per GPU or XPU accelerator, with that figure continuing to expand through new platforms. He also says the company is positioned to benefit in the near term from higher content attach rates linked to ongoing AI and cloud infrastructure deployments.

Wall Street backing and revenue outlook

Astera shares have fallen nearly 30% over the past three months amid a broader rotation out of semiconductor stocks, as investors question how durable the AI trade remains. Over the same period, the iShares Semiconductor ETF has dropped 15%.

Even so, BMO's view broadly matches Wall Street sentiment. LSEG data shows 17 of the 24 analysts covering Astera Labs rate the stock buy or strong buy, while seven recommend holding it.

Beyond the near-term AI build-out, Kumar says Astera also has a longer-term strategy focused on optics, racks and custom semiconductor solutions. Those businesses are expected to become a larger contributor to revenue over time.
