Blockchain, Crypto, and Technology by Anatoly Yakovenko
Anatoly Yakovenko is the co-founder and CEO of Solana Labs, creator of the Solana blockchain—a high-performance, Proof-of-History-based network capable of processing over 65,000 transactions per second. Solana has become a leading platform for decentralized finance (DeFi), NFTs, and scalable blockchain applications. Yakovenko’s technical leadership has positioned Solana as a top contender against Ethereum in speed, cost, and developer adoption.
Born in Ukraine in 1981, Yakovenko immigrated to the United States in the 1990s and earned a Computer Science degree from the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign. He spent more than a decade at Qualcomm, specializing in distributed systems, compression, and wireless protocols, before launching a VoIP startup and later turning his focus to blockchain scalability. In 2018, Yakovenko co-founded Solana Labs with Raj Gokal, aiming to solve the blockchain trilemma of decentralization, security, and scalability. Under his leadership, Solana has hosted billions of dollars in on-chain activity and attracted major institutional and retail adoption.
