Apoorva Mehta is the founder of Instacart and Cloud Health Systems, and currently serves as executive chairman of Maplebear Inc., Instacart’s parent company. After stepping down as CEO in 2021 and from the board in 2023, Mehta turned focus toward health tech infrastructure, founding Cloud Health in 2024 to modernize chronic care coordination through integrated software and direct-delivery logistics. Cloud Health has raised more than USD 30 million in seed funding and currently operates across five U.S. states with a workforce exceeding 120 employees.
Instacart, which Mehta scaled from a solo-engineered app in 2012 to a platform servicing over 14 million active users, went public on the Nasdaq in September 2023. The IPO valued the company at USD 9.9 billion, with Mehta holding equity reportedly worth over USD 800 million post-listing. During his tenure, Instacart built logistics rails for more than 1,400 retail partners and processed over USD 45 billion in grocery transactions. Forbes and Bloomberg profile Mehta among the most influential entrepreneurs shaping the future of on-demand infrastructure and digital health delivery.
As of Q3 2025, Mehta has not publicly engaged in any blockchain initiatives or crypto asset ventures. No verifiable statements, token investments, or protocol partnerships link him to digital asset ecosystems.
