Blockchain innovation, DeFi, and Injective Protocol updates by Eric Chen
Eric Chen is co-founder and CEO of Injective Labs, the core contributor to Injective Protocol, a layer-one blockchain optimized for decentralized finance. Since launching mainnet in 2021, Injective has become one of the fastest-growing ecosystems in crypto, with more than 2 billion transactions processed and over 1.5 million active wallets as of mid-2025. Chen previously worked in cryptographic research at NYU and held a research analyst role at Innovating Capital before turning full-time to protocol design. Under his leadership, Injective has attracted strategic backing from Pantera, Binance Labs, Jump Crypto, and Mark Cuban.
Injective supports custom modules for on-chain order books, derivatives, and zero-gas fee trading. In 2024, the Injective Foundation announced native integrations with BlackRock’s tokenized fund BUIDL, offering decentralized exposure to short-duration Treasuries. The ecosystem hosts projects like Helix, Frontrunner, Neptune, and DojoSwap, with total value secured exceeding USD 550 million. Chen was included in Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2024 for his work in digital asset infrastructure. In 2025, he presented at ETHDenver, Token2049, and Permissionless, outlining Injective’s roadmap toward shared sequencing and sovereign rollup SDK deployment. With more than 75 dApps built on-chain and multi-chain routing enabled via inter-chain accounts, Chen has positioned Injective as a programmable financial L1 for capital markets.
