E-commerce Vision and Business Ventures from Marc Lore

Marc Lore, serial entrepreneur and founder of Jet.com, continues to be a major player in e-commerce and urban innovation in 2025. After selling Jet.com to Walmart for $3.3 billion in 2016, Lore went on to launch several ventures, including Wonder, a food tech company valued at over $3.5 billion as of 2024. He is also moving forward with Telosa, his ambitious project to build a sustainable city in the U.S. desert designed to house five million residents by 2050. The pre-construction phase for Telosa cleared environmental approvals in late 2024, with groundbreaking expected in 2025.

Lore previously led Walmart’s U.S. e-commerce division, where he integrated Jet.com and transformed the online marketplace into a serious competitor to Amazon. He holds an MBA from Wharton and began his career on Wall Street before founding Diapers.com, which was later acquired by Amazon. Known for his visionary approach to logistics and urban planning, Lore combines technology and social design to pursue what he calls equitable capitalism. His mission includes promoting accessible housing, healthcare, and education within cities built for long-term sustainability.
